a. Vehicles crossing toll gates during the year 2008 AD:

The total number of vehicles which passed via the Toll Gates during the year 2008 AD was (8,646,724 ) vehicles with a daily average of ( 23,690 ) vehicles compared to the total number of vehicles which passed during the preceding year (2007 AD) which reached (7,642,732 ) vehicles with a daily average of (20.939 ) vehicles and an increase of ( 20 % ) as illustrated in Table No. (1) and Graphic Chart No. (1).



Looking at the figures in the table No.1 above shows that the total number of vehicles by type through 2008 are:

1 . Small Vehicles:
The number of small vehicles crossing the Toll Gates during the year 2008 was ( 8,033,311 ) vehicles with an increase of ( 22 % ) in comparison the preceding year 2007.

2. Light Transport Vehicles:
Recorded a decrease in the Saudi side by (6,987) vehicles which is equivalent to (34%) with the numbers recorded in the increase of Bahrain side by (3,266) vehicles which is equivalent to (11%) than what was recorded last year.

3. Buses:
Increase was recorded during the year 2008 by (55,943) Buses with an increase of (19%) in comparison with 2007.

4. Trucks:
The number of trucks which crossed through the Toll Gates during the year 2008 was ( 511,712
) trucks with a record increase over the preceding year of ( 05 % ).

And a comparison within ten years, the following chart shows the daily average of the numbers and weights of trucks during the years from 1999 to 2008.

The number of vehicles since the opening of the Causeway until the end of 31/12/2008

Total passing vehicles since the opening of the bridge until the end of 31/12/2008 were (70,783,892) vehicle, with a daily average of (8,773) vehicle for the total directions.
The following chart shows the daily average number of vehicles since the start of the operation and during the last ten and five and three years.

b. The Vehicles in Travel:
Vehicles which have completed procedures for travel to the other side of the Causeway, the number of Saudi vehicles traveling during the year 2008 were (6,738,916) vehicles, and (1,019,624) Bahraini vehicles, and (313,874) vehicles from other countries. The Saudi vehicles accounted for (83%) and (13%) of Bahraini vehicles, which is illustrated by the following graph
